Tai Chi: learn for fun, exercise and spiritual harmony.
Each class begins with light warm-up stretches followed by some type of Qigong. Qigong can be defined as, "Energy Cultivation" and is an important part of the Tai Chi practice.
Like Tai Chi, Qigong has many health benefits to offer the mind, body, and spirit. In these classes you will be introduced to several methods of Qigong and styles of Tai Chi over time.
The last part of our class time will be devoted to Tai Chi movement, learning and understanding the how and why of Tai Chi full body coordination. Tai Chi is practiced slowly, stepping in many directions, which increases our balance, focus, and inner strength. We use the full studio space, blending one posture into the next as we step and move in space. The movements are practiced solo, and mindfully, but eventually can be with a partner as self-defense theory, which advanced students can discover.
While Tai Chi can be fun, it can also be challenging, even if you have a yoga or some other fitness background.
Please dress with comfortable clothing and footwear, no flip-flops or mat needed.
You must sign-in to book a spot in this class.
